The Buttermarket in Redruth, Cornwall, is a restored complex originally built in 1825. Once a thriving meat market, it played an important role in developing Redruth’s identity as a bustling market town. In 2025, following a £4 million renovation led by Redruth Revival CIC and supported by the Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF), the Buttermarket was transformed into a vibrant cultural and community hub featuring a food hall, retail units, co-working spaces, and a venue for live events.
As part of the renovation, a 200m² exposed aggregate floor was installed to enhance the courtyard’s functionality and aesthetic appeal. HATCRETE supplied Colourmix in Bitter Briar, which complements the historic architecture while providing a durable surface for a high foot traffic area.
