PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Keighley Fire Station forms part of a £2.2 million redevelopment, replacing the original station after more than 50 years of service. The new facility required a durable external concrete floor capable of withstanding daily operational traffic. HATCRETE Raven Grey Colourmix was supplied for the integral colouring of the concrete.
Raven Grey was chosen for an important operational reason. During fire and rescue training exercises, large volumes of water are used, and lighter concrete surfaces can create glare in bright conditions. Raven Grey helps reduce reflected light, improving visibility and creating a safer training environment.
Some areas feature a brushed concrete finish, providing enhanced slip resistance and improved traction in wet conditions, offering increased safety for both vehicles and pedestrians.
PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
To supply Raven Grey Colourmix for the integral colouring of a 260m³ external concrete floor.
